I went shooting fireworks last night. It’s Independence Day fireworks, which is renowned as one of the biggest fireworks event here at Chicago. No matter what happen, I can’t afford to miss this opportunity because this is my first time and it’s likely to be my last too. Speaking of which, I almost miss it until my friend reminded me that yesterday is July 3rd! Thank to my friend for not making me regret my clumsiness all my life. Too bad, she didn’t finish her report in time before the fireworks started, so she can’t come with me that night. I’m by myself again.
I shot 653 pictures that night. The first picture I shot at 7:17 PM and the last is 11:16 PM. Roughly 2.7 pictures per minute! The fireworks part is 242 pictures and if my camera is faster, it will certainly be more. (or maybe I’ll just have 2 cameras haha)
It was cold that night. Much colder than I expected from mid-summer night and I didn’t bring any jacket along. The cold wind from the lake was blowing so hard making my body shaking. I was laughing at myself that I did prepare everything but myself. I’m fine, though. I have experienced more severe than this before.
From that 653 pictures, I have already selected a good one and it come down to 88 pictures only. It’s not that all other pictures is bad (only some) but, in general, I always shoot to same spot many times and at a slightly different angle. So it’s just sort of duplicated. I haven’t completed processing it yet. The following picture is the only one I finished. For the remaining I’ll post them later.
Click at the picture to see the larger one (please.. ^_^). I shot this while waiting before the fireworks started. Although I have to wait for more than an hour, I’m not bored at all. The evening sky was so beautiful and I can’t stop shooting it. I walk around and shot from this view, then I walked around and shot from that view. Haha it was fun. You’ll see from the complete set.
